Cazcabel’s Blanco and Reposado bottles add agave-shaped details, estate markers and production cues while keeping the tequila unchanged.

Cazcabel Tequila’s redesign makes the bottle itself carry more of the brand’s field-to-glass story. The new packaging for Blanco and Reposado brings the agave piña into the label and glass, then adds details tied to the family estate and the people and place behind production. The tequila inside remains unchanged.
The 70cl format is due to roll out in the UK and Europe from October. New 75cl and 1L formats are planned for the US from January 2027. The schedule gives the redesign a staged arrival across markets, while the different bottle sizes reflect the formats Cazcabel plans to offer in each region.
Agave shapes the bottle
The piña, the heart of the agave plant used to make tequila, provides the central visual cue. Its outline appears in the front label’s shape and border, then returns as a domed punt at the base of the bottle. Repeating one form in two parts of the pack gives the design a clear visual link to its key ingredient, rather than confining the reference to a single illustration or label graphic.
Embossed details on the glass describe the production process. That choice gives the bottle a surface for communicating the making of the tequila, while the revised neck label gathers three small icons: the family’s agave, the highlands of Los Altos de Jalisco, and the tree at the centre of the Hacienda Cazcabel courtyard. Together, the details connect crop, growing region and estate in a compact set of cues.
Other information on the pack makes the place more specific. It includes the estate’s coordinates, its altitude of 1,964 metres and the signature of maestra tequilera Yadira Hernández. These elements give the label a mix of geographic and personal identifiers. For designers, that mix is a useful way to build a brand story from concrete details already tied to production, rather than relying only on broad claims about provenance.
Packaging as a record of production
Cazcabel describes itself as a field-to-glass brand because it farms agave and produces tequila. The company says that controlling both stages gives it quality control and lets it take responsibility for sustainable practices across the process. Its agave farming is GLOBALG.A.P. certified, and its distillery is 95% solar powered.
The new bottle puts that account into the visual system through farm, place and process references. Those cues can help a package communicate a production story at a glance, though the design’s detail also rewards closer inspection. The piña form supplies a repeated motif; the embossing adds information to the glass; and the neck icons make room for several parts of the estate story without asking the front label to carry every detail.
Uziel Vazquez, Co-Founder of Cazcabel Tequila, said the bottle gives the company a way to share its field-to-glass story, its pride in being the fourth generation of agave farmers in the Vazquez family, and the importance of agave to tequila. The family’s farming history is therefore expressed through both the packaging and the information printed on it.
The liquid stays the same
Despite the visual changes, Cazcabel confirms that Blanco and Reposado have not changed. Both remain 100% Blue Weber agave, distilled at Hacienda Cazcabel in Atotonilco el Alto under NOM 1436. The company says they are made using only agave, water and yeast.
That distinction matters for a redesign: the updated pack changes how the brand presents its production and origin, while the stated recipe and production location remain constant. As the new sizes arrive in the UK, Europe and the US on different schedules, the details to watch are how the agave motif, estate information and process cues carry across each format.
